Melissa is a warm and compassionate Clinical Psychologist, conducting therapy collaboratively, sensitively and empathically. She seeks to create a strong therapeutic relationship with clients with the goal of assisting them to improve their quality of life.
Melissa has a Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University. She completed both her Masters and Honours theses examining Social Anxiety Disorder in children. Melissa is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She has worked at The Psychology Practice since 2013.
Melissa has experience with a broad range of clientele in areas such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and behavioural issues in children. In addition, she has experience working with couples who are experiencing relationship difficulties. Prior to her time at the Psychology Practice, Melissa worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with adult, adolescent and child clients. This included the Centre for Emotional Health (Macquarie University), a university psychological services centre, a specialist pain clinic and a child community mental health team.
Melissa provides assessment and treatment for adults, adolescents and children. She utilizes evidence based approaches to inform her practice, including Cognitive Behavioural, Acceptance and Commitment, Schema and Narrative therapeutic approaches.
