Dr Tabitha Keon is a qualified psychologist who is registered with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Tabitha holds a range of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults and she works with individuals, couples, and groups. Her specialist interests lie in relationship difficulties and her doctoral research at the Macquarie University examined how individuals resolve emotional hurt occurring within intimate relationships.
Tabitha tailors therapy to meet the individual needs of her clients as she draws upon a range of therapeutic interventions including evidence-based cognitive behaviour therapy. Areas of treatment include management of anxiety, stress, and depression, couple therapy and relationship difficulties, self-esteem, bereavement, life transitions, and communication and assertiveness skills. She has enjoyed making media appearances relevant to mental health issues, as well as teaching counselling skills to psychology students at Macquarie University.
Maintaining the therapeutic relationship is an integral part of Tabitha’s work, and her empathic and compassionate nature is evident with all of her clients.
