Tabitha Keon is a qualified psychologist who is both
registered with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board
and is an associate member of the Australian Psychological
Society (APS). She holds a broad range of experience
working with adults, together on an individual and group
basis, assisting them to manage issues ranging from anxiety
and depression through to life stressors relating to
relationship issues, bereavement, and trauma.
Her specialist
interests lie in relationship difficulties and currently
she is involved in research at the Macquarie University
Psychology Department on how individuals resolve emotional
hurt occurring in the context of intimate relationships.
Having studied a wide range of therapeutic techniques,
both through tertiary doctoral study and continued professional
development, Tabitha is able to tailor counseling to
meet the individual needs of her clients.
Areas of treatment include management of anxiety, stress,
and depression, couple counseling and relationship difficulties,
self-esteem, bereavement, management of significant life
transitions, and communication and assertiveness skills.
She has enjoyed making media appearances relevant to
mental health issues, as well as teaching counseling
skills to psychology students at Macquarie University.
Maintaining the therapeutic relationship as such an important
part of her work, Tabitha’s empathic
and compassionate nature is evident in the relationship
with all of her clients.
