KRYSTYNA KIDSON
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
MPsychol(Clin)(Hons), BPsych(Hons), M.A.P.S., M.A.A.C.B.T
Krystyna Kidson is a qualified clinical psychologist, registered with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board. She is a member with the Australian Psychological Society, and the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy.
The following quote is a good metaphor for Krystyna’s relational approach: “By yourself you can be overpowered. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded cord isn't easily snapped” (Ecc. 4:12). Krystyna is passionate about walking alongside her clients and helping them maximise their strengths and enhancing their skills so they can live more meaningful and purposeful lives.
Before entering private practice, Krystyna worked with a cutting-edge research unit that specialised in treating childhood behaviour problems. Parents lived in a war zone, as they battled to control their children’s non-compliance, verbal and physical aggression, and temper tantrums. In such cases, Krystyna assisted parents to develop highly effective behaviour management strategies that they could use at home.
Krystyna has worked with children, adolescents and adults, dealing with a range of issues from anxiety to attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder; behaviour problems to bipolar disorder; adjustment difficulties to depression; persistent pain to parenting issues; stress, self-harm and suicide ideation. Her clients have valued her wisdom as she tailored a treatment plan to their specific requirements, and have described her as very caring, warm and empathic – a good companion for the journey.
