Charise is a highly skilled and qualified clinical psychologist from Macquarie University and is registered with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board and is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She has provided individual and group-based treatments to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders. Charise also works with individuals to help them improve their self-esteem, public speaking skills, communication skills, stress management skills, and life transition skills. She is also experienced in helping children and adolescents manage bullying and teasing.
Her specialist interests lies in the treatment of anxiety disorders, with a particular emphasis on child and adolescent anxiety disorders. She completed her Doctoral research at the Macquarie University Anxiety Research Unit (MUARU), examining what factors improve treatment outcomes for anxious children and adolescents. At the Macquarie University Anxiety Clinic, Charise has conducted extensive individual and group treatments for children, adolescents, and their parents presenting with a range of anxiety disorders including generalised anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, social phobia, specific phobias, and obsessive compulsive disorder.
Another of Charise’s specialist areas is trauma therapy, in particular working with adult survivors to help them manage the sequale of childhood abuse. She has conducted clinical research in this area and works with individuals using individual and group based therapeutic techniques.
As a therapist, Charise is empathic, compassionate, and has unconditional regard for her clients. This enables her to work openly with her clients, helping them to address difficult issues and live the life they desire. |
